A very nice 125 year old showcase with many drawers on the back to conceal supplies, hardware or inventory.
A free standing, rear access showcase. In all original condition, original glass.
It is in excellent condition with no breaks or repairs. It is sitting on 3 wheel castors that help it move accros an old wooden floor or carpet as seen here.
It is ready for brackets (I'll ask Gary if they are here) and custom fit glass shelves. We didn't use brackets. We would use various sizes of glass shelves to juxtapose the merchandise at various elevations. We used a variety of bricks, glass blocks, stacked or standing books, book ends, old cans, cigar boxes to support glass shelves in intetesting ways depending on the merchandise at hand.
The top glass is scratched from the past 125 years of merchandising it has seen. A perfectly new counter top glass would look silly on this antique cabinet.
Angie would cover the bottom in different colors using table linens or old lace. Natural elements like fall leaves or seashells would get customers attention and strike up a conversation around the valuable and costly goods artfully displayed within.
It didn't have lighting originally. There are so many lighting ideas at Menards and lowes. We even lit the showcase with stained glass lamps on top of and inside the showcase itself.
It will be a great showcase for you!
